Another red dot question

I know we’ve discussed this before but I have a more specific question. I am right handed and left eye dominant. I like using red dots. I have them on a couple pistols and my ARs. I’m looking at getting another, but have a question. All the RDS I have are open reflex sights. Like the Hex Wasp. I can keep both eyes open with these no problem. But I’m thinking about getting a tube style RDS, like the Romeo 5 or something similar. For those of you who are cross eye dominant, will this tube style RDS work? Is it as easy to keep both eyes open with the tube style as it is for the open style? Using a regular magnified scope, I HAVE to keep my left eye closed or I don’t see through the scope at all. So, I‘m just not sure about the tube style RDS…

Thanks for the input.

Yes. I am right handed and left eye dominant. I have 5 different guns with Romeo 5s on them and 1 with a Holosun 510C. They all work great for me.

I’m cross eye dom. Right handed, left eye.
I have zero issues with any of the RDS. Pistol or rifle. Tube style rifle or pistol style.

It is very easy for me to keep both eyes open.
It’s not the RadS or Scope that is the issue, its adapting to left eye dom.
With some practice, I can overcome about any sight.
I’m fine with the RDSs I’m using now with both eyes. I’ve hunted for 30+ years with a scope and I still can’t see thru it with both eyes open. Same with bow hunting. Can’t see thru the peep without shutting my left eye. Don’t think it matters much for hunting, but for self defense scenarios, it’s a different ball game.

Now if he could just move the target up two inches and to the right two inches.

Seriously, I just point it and shoot like most of us. KF usually starts around 2:00 and takes 2-3 shots to walk it in. Once he’s got the sweet spot he’s off to the races.

Maybe going gangsta' style and looking down the side of the slide that's now facing topside puts him on target quicker!:unsure::whistle:o_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:cool:

You should see when he wears his gold chains and brings his Draco.

I got my eye on that one also. I hope it works out.
I have a pretty comprehensive review of the Romeo 5 here somewhere.

In short, it’s the best red dot in its class and price range. Very sturdy and reliable. Go to you tube and look at the torture test video(s).

Shake awake, fast targeting, stays zero’ed even on pump shotguns shooting magnum slugs. For under $200 you aren’t going to find a better red dot for a rifle/carbine or shotgun.

Bob, the R5 will typically fit most long guns, but I don't think it'll work on most/any CCW handguns ..... is that correct? Thanks.
