Another senseless negligent shooting

At least on e a year an officer dies like this.

"Only the police should be allowed to have guns."
Whomever is in charge of training at the National Park Service has a lot of work to do: "Detectives' preliminary findings were that Roy was attempting to simulate discharging his weapon, which he thought was unloaded, police said. When Roy pulled the trigger, the gun fired, fatally striking Hernandez, police said."

Worst thing is to know that dumbasses like this are roaming freely in Public Parks. What's the justification for these guys being armed? Bad guys? Wildlife? If it's wildlife, here's the Park Service advice: "Visitors should not consider firearms as protection from wildlife."

US Park Police is a full fledged law enforcement agency with jurisdiction in all US parks and national monuments. They are one of the oldest LE agencies in America.

They are trained at FLETC and know better. It appears alcohol and dumbass were factors. What a senseless loss of an officer's life.
