So any one else think it is a good thing that we are returning to launching people? I remember be a young child in Lancaster Ca going to watch the shuttle land at Edwards AFB. Then latter seeing the shuttle’s getting refurbished at plant 42 in Palmdale. You could drive down the road and see the shuttle and transport landing taking off. The decoupling etc about 100 yrds away from the road. Thats a big thing I miss about living in the high desert, the aerospace industry a plane spotters dream.

I am. Anything to do with space exploration and I'm in. I've been a member of the Planetary Society since 1984, and (if I remember), will probably watch from a link in their site (I've been invited to launches both manned (Shuttle) and unmanned (solar sail, which I helped sponsor, and space telescope, etc.), launches). I set a reminder for the launch on Wednesday before weather scrubbed it and plan on watching today weather permitting 🤞

So, you like space...or you just take up space.....🤣🤣🤣🤣
j/k grasshopper

First episode was pretty funny.

Launch is at 4:30 Eastern, right?
Hans, per Fox article: (unless changed since I read it last).

"SpaceX and NASA are keeping a close eye on the weather ahead of their second attempt at a historic crewed launch from Florida. The launch will see astronauts travel to space from U.S. soil for the first time since 2011.
NASA astronauts Doug Hurley and Bob Behnken are scheduled to launch from Kennedy Space Center’s launch pad 39A, at 3:22 p.m. EDT on Saturday. The launch pad was also used for the Apollo and space shuttle missions."

I feel the same way about space. I want us to explore and can't wait for us to send manned missions to mars!!!

The difference between the Russians and the american's when it comes too space is! They will always beat us there, because we try too return what we send! They don't worry as much about the return as just getting there! ;)

Both, you 🤖. I planning on sending you on a space mission to check the true temperature🌡 of the Sun's ☀ surface 🔥 (Don't worry, I'll launch you at night 🌑, so that you'll stay safe) 😂😂😂

BET7’s first and only mistake when in space......

I live 25mi south of Kennedy/Cape Canaveral. Walked out the front door as I do with most and enjoyed the show. Very happy to see us launching people again. I generally don’t make a trek closer because the rockets are smaller and crowds are big. I was ~10mi away during the first Falcon launch and about the same for the first return to land by the rocket. I was on Kennedy grounds, as close as you could ever get, for the Heavy’s first launch. It was awesome, the first time anything came close to a Shuttle launch (when the Shuttle went up my house shook like a train was going by; the Heavy is close but just not the same). The return of the Heavy twins to land was something special. We see all types of rockets launch here and it’s kinda old hat but when the Twins returned, side by side, double double sonic booms, touching down within a second of each other....very few things make me feel like a kid again, that certainly did.
The pic is a little grainy (cellphone) but was a recent Falcon 9.
