Anyone find the ideal magnified optic for an AR with an A2 front sight post?

I tried red dots and magnifiers for this set up, it's an M&P 15X, law enforcement variant rifle, with the standard front A2 post.

My astigmatisms in both eyes make for magnification an almost necessity, and I didn't like the bulk of the red dot and magnifier set up.

I'm presently trying out a Sig Sauer Bravo 3 Battle Sight, seems to be the Sig Sauer answer to the Vortex Spitfire X3.

I just got it today and haven't formed an opinion on it or shot it yet, but I didn't instantly fall in love with it out of the box.

Any experience with this optic or putting magnified optics on an AR with a front sight post?

I've never had an issue with an flat-top mounted optic with an A2 FSB/P.

You see the FSP on 1X as you're supposed to but always focus on the target. At most you see a blur on >2X and beyond that its not discernible.

My .02
I had issues with a budget red dot once I added magnifier.
I see a slight blur with this new optic, but it is crisp.

I do miss the fact I could flip magnifier and use iron sights without taking the optic off.

Purchase a quick detach picatinny scope rail with a higher rise to it.
you can then add the scope rings so the scope co exists with the A post or above it.. whichever you prefer

Example with my 6.5 grendel

I mounted a Vortex Spitfire 3x on my at that time S&W M&P Sport and disliked the seeing of the front sight I cut it off.

This is what it looks like now-we don't need no dag nabit A2 front sight

Not that I will be any help to you, I just wanted to say that I dislike that A2 sight post and specifically avoided guns that have them when I bought my first and only ( so far) AR.
This is my oldest and least sophisticated gun, but it is nice enough to want to give her a nice optic so that you can acquire a target and shoot with her easily as it is a respectable patrol rifle.

My first colt was a flat top shorty with A2 front sight. I stuck a 3x9x40 in an ARMS#5 and that front post disappeared. It was there , but I never saw it till I swapped the scope/ARMS mount out for the carry handle rear sight. That's my experience

Just my opinion but if you regularly plan on shooting out past 100 yards I would get a LPVO. Otherwise get a red dot. Like a Romeo 5.
