Anyone know what this is for?

I’m new to handguns so bare with me. I got this in my box (Hellcat with Viridian green laser) but for the life of me, I can’t figure out what it’s for. It was not attached to anythingand doesn’t seem to fit anything either. Any ideas as to what it is?

That’s what I thought. My hellcat came with 5 magazines and all have base plates. None of them look like the one pictured. 4 have one style and the 5th has a slightly open style but neither looks like the one that was just in the box. Could it be a spare in case one breaks or cracks somehow? Or possibly one to reduce the height of the base plate for some reason? I’ll keep it obviously as I may need it one day but it sure is a bit confusing. Thanks

These are flush fit base plates, easier to conceal your gun on your person, won’t stick out and be seen like the pinky style base plate when carrying under clothes, in other words it won’t profile your gun.
