AR, cleaning and lube

Have a rather new AR Pistol. My last contact was with the M-16 and that was the middle of the
last century. I have figured out the cleaning of the funky bolt lock/barrel breach area.

Watching a bunch of you tube I find what appears to be the use of gun oil, motor oil and
gear grease.

The lower seems to stay rather clean. Any special lubing there?

If you have an AR/time give me run down of the lube points and materials you use.

I use Lucas Extreme Duty Gun Oil and CLP. Works really well in keeping your weapon lubricated. It doesn't burn off like other oils. My advise on where to oil.... Anywhere metal touches metal. To include the barrel. Ar-15's like to run wet. So don't be afraid of putting too much lubricant on it. Just as long

as your not trying to soak it.

I use the same product...it’s great stuff....there’s hope for you yet Random.....🤣🤣🤣🤣
 
Gun cleaners and oils will pretty much be up to your discretion. You will get a 100 different answers. I like M-pro7 and FP-10 but any good CLP will serve you well. I do like using a grease and I use Lubriplate. An old saying “if it rotates it gets oil, if it slides it gets grease” if you see a lot of wear, on the barrel or on your slide, put a little grease on it. Lots of good greases out there.

I used to use Rig +P Stainless Steel Lube years ago on all my semi-autos, I don’t think it’s made anymore, worked good.
 
Thanks guys.... going to try a bunch of what you recommend..... and maybe some Mobil 1 too!
 
I use Grizzly Grease on my Stag-10. The stuff literally wipes off making cleaning is easy after every trip to the range.
