What are your laws regarding rifles in the State of NY ?

restrictions on magazine size?
restrictions on rifle type ?
No clue..
give me some background info and we can try to help.
I live in a less restrictive state

The state considers any semi-automatic, centerfire rifle to be an “assault” weapon if it has any of the following:

  • No fixed magazine
  • Pistol grips (beneath action or forward, second handgrip)
  • Thumbhole stock
  • Adjustable stock
  • Grenade launcher or flare launcher
  • Threaded barrel
  • Flash suppressor
  • Bayonet mount
  • Magazine that accepts more than 10 rounds
  • Muzzle brake or compensator

Ineresting that these NY state gun shop has “NY compliant MSR’s”.
Have you contacted your local gun shop to discuss firearms allowed to be sold and owned in NY ?

I would assume you could build an AR with a fixed magazine, 5 rounds, non adjuatable stock, and pinned non removable muzzle device that is not a brake or comp.

the parts are out there. Just finding them in this timeframe will be hard, but there is a way to build a compliant, legal, NY rifle.

Dark Storm sells a few different models of AR's that meet compliance for states with draconian laws.

FightLite SCR would do the trick. Can put an upper from virtually any AR on with the bolt carrier provided to make it state compliant and functionally an AR minus a pistol grip and adjustable stock.
