Fyi.. For all those interested in converting an existing serialized purchased pistol or rifle, Home build lower/upper, into a Short Barrel Rifle with the ATF and the NFA tax stamp, the approvals are running between 1-2 months on average if you do an electronic file with the ATF.

you can google an ATF Form 1 Efile all day long on explanation of a form 1 SBR request for a “trust” or “individual” .
$200 to the ATF
About $25 for photo ID and fingerprints needed
... other items needed, but all in around $300 on average to request from ATF to make an SBR .

edit: efile allows you to scan in your photo, trust or individual paperwork, background questionnaire to the ATF database. This allows for a 1-2 month turn around vs 9-12 months for snail mail paper filing.

I'm hoping my Dead Air Mask suppressor will be freed up in the next month or two since my check was cashed back last December but I'm not holding my breath.

Build your own .. lets face it.. tech has been around for decades . Its easier to do a form 1 with the ATF for an NFA than pay to buy from the big tech

The Dead Air Mask can't be beat for the sound reduction rating you get from it.

I may go the do it yourself route at some point. There's an LGS in my area that sells their own brand of legal suppressors for only $150-$200 (less tax stamp) that appear to be made from the filter kits.
