Barbara Walters, the pioneering TV journalist whose interviewing skills made her one of the most prominent figures in broadcasting, has died, her spokesperson confirmed to CNN. She was 93.

I saw where Pele died yesterday too. I was thinking about that last night, all these people who were part of our lives and lexicon dropping off. I guess it happens to every generation. You probably don't know that I am a Beatle-phile. I was reading last night about the recording sessions for the Abbey Rd. LP. I was a few months old the last time all 4 Beatles were in the same room together and yet through the years of reading and listening it seems like it actually happened during my lifetime ( It didn't. I mean I was 12 when Lennon was murdered and I didn't even get into The Beatles until I was about 15 or 16). Nevertheless the last 2 living Beatles are 80 and 82 years old.

Will the day come when all the people who made a great impression on me or dead ? It's very possible. As it is most of them were dead long before I was born.
