80 years ago this week. 503rd Parachute Infantry Regiment. Two soldiers of an M9 2.36-inch bazooka section blow out a Japanese pillbox at Heart Point, on Corregidor Island, Philippines on or around 19 February 1945. Note their slung M1A1 Carbines and the billowing parachute silk overhead.

Every once in a while you got a piece that was a bit older and the first few chews were like chewing a rubber tire until it loosened up lol.

Father in law was in the Pacific theater. He said the Japanese were dug in like ants and they did not give up. You had to dig them out one hole at a time.

but, back in those days, it was real gum we chewed, not the plastics of the past few decades
