When it comes to shooting, eye dominance and the role it plays is a question that comes up a lot. Many shooters often wonder what eye dominance is and how to know which eye is their dominant eye.

I am left eye dominant and right hand shooter for pistol. I have trained and found I can shoot left handed pistol quite well now.

rifles, I am left hand only . Cannot see down the sight or scope with my right hand use.

I am cross eye dominant. I've found that using a reflex RDS cures the problem of having to close an eye. I will never be able to see through a scope without closing my left eye, but using a RDS on my AR allows me to keep both eyes open. And I just put the HEX Wasp RDS on my Hellcat and have been practicing drawing the pistol, bringing it up, keeping both eyes open and picking up the red dot. Much more natural and comfortable than moving the pistol closer to my left eye to shoot. At least for me.
