The article contains some good advice, but 30 bullet points seems a bit excessive. The safety and legal items are a must, but things like "install hurricane glass near your doors" and "learn to shoot from unusual positions like rice paddy prone" could probably be left off of an introductory list. I would like to see as many of the 8 million new gun owners as possible develop a love and appreciation for firearms, and worry that lists like this may be a bit overwhelming.

I agree that is a lot to digest. My hope is that folks new to firearms learn to love shooting as much as a lot of us do.
