Beretta APX A1

I have the orginal and it's a great gun IMHO. It's built like a tank. They aren't the smallest dimension wish, but they are packed full of features, very ergonomic, and are more robust than others on the market.

If you have any direct questions or concerns just ask. I likely have the answer.

I totally agree!!!! I also have the original and I like it a lot. I liked the looks of the original when I first saw pictures of it. I handled a used one at one gun store and almost bought it because I liked it so much. Less than a week later I was at a pawn shop and they had an APX(original). It had a 21 round magazine and was $50 less than the one I saw at the other place, so it came home with me that day.

I've owned several full size striker fired semi-autos and the Beretta APX is my favorite(when it comes to full size Glock type firearms). It's very easy to take apart to clean. The trigger very good for a striker fired handgun. The slide has lot of places to grip it to rack the slide(it's one of my favorite features of this firearm not only because of how well it works, but also because I really like how it looks...:))

I usually carry mine in an outside the pants holster. It fits in a left over holster from one of the Sig Sauers I used to own(P2340 or similar model maybe the 9 mm version).

I can't recommend this firearm enough (original Beretta APX).

I own polymer striker-fired Glocks, M&P 2.0s, CZ, HK, Walthers, Springfield, Rugers, etc, and the APX is my favorite. More people are concerned with the tacticool look, copycatting what local law enforcement and the military issue, and being sheeple by following trends and what everyone else is doing. The APX is handsdown better and a more stable and robust platform than the Sig Sauer P320 IMHO, yet the P320 is much more popular.

The Beretta APX and HK P30sk are the only double-stack polymer frame handguns I will carry and am really interested in. I prefer DA/SA over striker-fired pistols, so the fact that purchased several and invested over $1k in spare parts and accessories for the striker-fired APX platform should tell you something.

If you're referring to the full size (FS) and not the Carry then yes I've had one since June. Out of the many pistols I have I feel it has become my favorite. The slide is a bit thicker than a Glock 17/19/26 but its ergonomics are superior. I didn't care for the original but the A1 is superb. I'm honestly shocked by how affordable they are, Beretta could ask an additional $200 for them but I'm certainly not gonna complain.

I'm looking forward for them to release either a Compact or Centurion A1 because I will definitely be adding one.

If ya have a question ask away.

I did get to hold one today and for me it just didn't do anything. It may be a fine gun for others but for not for me. My search continues after the first of the year--taking a Christmas break.
What were you expecting it to do, and what exactly are you in search of?

To be honest i'm really not a Beretta guy. Felt the same way about this one the same way I felt when the govt handed me a Beretta. Just didn't like it, can't explain it. It just seemed blocky to me. Like I said it may be a fine gun but not my cup of tea.

I’ve a friend who is a huge Beretta guy, has several APX’s…they aren’t bad, but they aren’t anything to shout about, either, in my experience…and he (sadly) concurs.

You could get them dirt cheap a little while back, though…iirc, they were around $350.
The original APX was around that price pretty much everywhere a few years back. Now Beretta is selling the APX A1 with a much improved trigger for a little bit more. The original APX carry has probably one of the worst triggers I've ever tried next to the S&W M&P bodyguard. My APX carry is the only firearm I ever sold and it sat on consignment for a couple months before it did most likely because of that terrible trigger.

Didn't look at any CZ's. I did look at FN503. Maybe i'll look at CZ the next time out
CZ-75 and clones are good firearms. The only reason I got rid of the ones I had was because I needed more slide to grip. That's my only complaint about CZ's is the narrower slide, but I'm an old guy so take that for what it's worth. CZ's are usually pretty accurate, reliable, and there are many different models out there(clones). I had a CZ-75 Duty that I carried for a while. It was very easy to conceal. It had a good trigger(slngle and double action).

I think my APX is something to shout about, but to each their own. I've been blessed to own several polymer firearms over the years(Glocks, S&W, Steyr, Taurus, Ruger, etc.) and I think the Beretta APX is better than all of them. I paid $350 for my APX and to me it was money well spent.

There are some firearms out there that no matter how much we want to like them, we don't. Some people feel that way about the first generation APX. The first time I saw an APX I knew I wanted one. Then I got one, shot it, and it exceeded my expectations. I plan to keep it for a long time.

I hadn't gotten that excited about firearm(APX) since I got a Sig P220(45 acp) many years ago. I carried that Sig a long time and it was the most accurate 45 acp handgun I ever owned...:) That P220 motivated me to try other Sigs (P229, P239, etc) and they were all pretty good firearms...:)

Some people are fans of the Beretta 92. I never did like them. I have shot a few different ones but the 92 just never did it for me. The Beretta 84 on the other hand is one of the firearms I've always wanted, next to my APX...:) I'm just not going to carry a 380 for self-defense(Beretta 84) even though I like the way they look, feel and shoot..:)
