Best 9mm Revolver: 5 Options For Everyday Carry (2021)

Came across this article on some 9mm revolvers, I never shot one or owned any, but have been searching for the S&W 9mm revolver, but not the one mentioned here.

Friend on another forum bought a charter arms 9mm he really likes. Kind of strange that it didn’t have frame protection around the ejector rod on the model he had but said the charter solution to eliminate the moon clips worked pretty well.

I picked up an RIA AL 9.0 (made in the Czech Republic) and was surprised how nice it was for the price point. Shoots well for a small revolver. Just needs those moon clips but those are easy to get.

I've gotten more into revolvers over the past few years. While I appreciate the design, I've never seen the need for a 9mm revolver. I might consider it if .38 Special range ammo starts getting back into the $1 per round range that we saw in 2020/2021, and 9mm stays significantly cheaper. Otherwise, I like my current revolver calibers.

For some reason, a 9mm revolver also seems like an answer to a question few if any are asking. While it would seem likely to have less recoil than the .38 special offerings (.357 is too obvious), that would seem to be the only argument for choosing it over the more traditional calibers. I suppose it would be less expensive to practice with if ammo prices remain where they are, though.

Given the price points of the guns listed, pretty much any 9mm subcompact pistol would be a better value. More capacity, thinner profile and often times better sights. Moon clips add another part to the equation that would seem to offset a big part of the reliability arguments. Don't get me wrong, I would take one if it were offered me, but I don't think it would become my EDC.

I think the S&W would make a great bedside home defense handgun.
My only question since I never had a handgun with moon clips is how does one conceal the bulk of the moon clips if these firearms are used for EDC??
It appears they are only a bit smaller than the speed loaders of old.
