Best Scope for AR15

russaa

Alpha
I have a Saint AR15 and wondering about the front sight.
When using a dark/black target with a red bull it is hard to see the front sight without moving out of the target because the front sight is black. My handguns have some type of white/florescent on the front sight and easy to see against a dark target.

Thoughts on fixing this?
Get a new front sight?
Put white nail polish on front sight?
Get a Green Dot scope?

Any good ideas?

Thanks

Is the front site part of a FSB or a flip-up front BUIS?

The best AR15 scope depends on your needs. Just a range gun? What's your typical shooting conditions - thick vegetation or wide-open country?

BTW- While the .223/5.56 can punch paper or ring a steel target further out, it's basically a 300 yd. gun for effective defense.

What would be your max distance shooting?
Anywhere from 20 yards to 50 yards most likely at the range. And yes, I can use a different color target but it is just odd that in any "bad" conditions it would be difficult to quickly see the sight so thought I would ask for suggestions. My AR on the Saint has the Triangular front sight, not sure that helps or makes a difference. Thanks.

You can replace just the post w/o replacing the whole site.

The solid metal triangular front sights are A2-types.

The front-sight post on top within the right & left "ears" is easily replaced by a colored, fiber-optic or tritium one.

Sounds like the way to go. Any suggestions on where to get the replacement? Sounds easy and probably what I am looking for. Thanks. Good to know the type of sight is an A2-type, thanks.

Something like this: https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts...ght/?msockid=3928c59bc0856f702a51d172c1976ef2

Do you mean rear (closest to you) site. I have several diamond shaped rear sites and the matching front (muzzle end) doesn't have the same shape (post anyways), but the outside is shaped the same. Regardless you can change post size and replace with a white, green or red front post as long as it's for AR's. The threads and detents should be the same.

Depending on the brand of the site, your choices are limited on fo and tritium. I say this as adjustments can be different. Do you know the brand or post a pic of it here. Thanks
