best type of sight for a PDW?

Bought my first PDW and I usually use a red dot type sight like the Holosun or EOtech... but I was wondering is there a better sight for a PDW? Probably one with a low profile to fit in a bag and one that is quick on target when you bring it out and up on target, since a PDW will most likely be a close-range engagement.

Thanks for any feedback.

I'd recommend an EoTech XPS or a Holosun 510c for a rapid engagement reflex sight.

If I owned a PDW, I would ensure it had iron sights on it mounted at a 45 degree angle. And as you have stated you want something different than Holosun and Eotech, I would recommend something like the Burris RT-5 prism sight. Optics and sights are all preference. But outside of Trijicon, Eotech, Holosun, the Burris RT-5 is also a quality optic with a forever warranty.

A pdw is a close/short range/defense firearm (intended use). To me a tube type cuts down on visual and would go with a 30mm or larger optic when at arms length sighting. A holographic or reflex would be my choice. Dot choice is important also (size and color).
