Beyond The 6.5 Creedmoor: The Other 6.5 Cartridges

The 6.5 caliber is nothing new and has a storied history. Here's a look at other talented 6.5 cartridges.

Beyond The 6.5 Creedmoor: The Other 6.5 Cartridges
The Swedish Mauser in 6.5 was probably the most accurate battle rifle ever! IMHO... They don't mention the 6.5 Jap used in the Arisaka rifles. My Type 38 Arisaka in 6.5 shoots like a laser. Nice fast, flat shooting caliber with minor recoil.

I hope I'm as lucky with my Arisaka Type 99, but in 7.7x58mm.

I've got the Type 99 too. Full mum, monopod & air craft sights. It's sweet for sure. 7.7 hits with authority, but not as flat shooting as the 6.5. Both calibers & guns are way underrated. ✌
Yup, mine too, everything matching, monopod, air craft sights, mum was intact and not scratched up. I have to clean it, and bought some ammo for it. The bolt action is sweet. Agreed that they are underrated, I read in some articles, that some think it was the best mauser action rifle built for use during the war.

It is a Mauser action. Next to the K98, it's the strongest "bolt" battle rifle ever built. First ever to chrome line a barrel too.
