Eye opening article, seems this current administration is set on attacking law abiding gun owners again by keeping a stock pile of 4473 forms, this administration will never stop till they get want they want….to disarm us….

As most of us know, form 4473 is stored by the FFL for 20 years in paper or electronic form based on the FFL’s preference. If that FFL goes out of business, or the records hit their 20th birthday they are sent to the ATF facility in Virginia where they are stored in shipping containers while the understaffed crew digitize each form one-by-one. And although those forms exist digitally they go no further than that facility because the USG is prevented from keeping a database of firearms owners. Their typical request for info comes when a crime is committed and they are given a serial number to track. So the 54 million guns “tracked” are either 20 year old purchases or companies that went out of business. Given that the USG is famous for bureaucratic inefficiency of the highest magnitude, their ability to scoop up legal gun owners - a vast number of whom are military or LEO - is slim-to-none. I guess it is human nature to always look for the boogeyman, but this country was built on guns. As long as I can remember the rallying cry has been The Govt is going to take our guns/ammo/rights and yet more states than ever have made owning a gun easier than ever and guns are being bought in astronomical numbers. Realistically, it would be easier to round up non-gun owners.

Oh. We should simply trust the Government then. Nothing to worry about. And yes, I'm sure they destroy records after twenty years if they say they do. Right. All of the anti gun groups, the Left, and certainly the Fed will never "scoop up legal gun owners", and how foolish of me to think that they would or ever wanted to! Thank you SimonSays, now no need for me to be concerned. Why have I been notifying my Congressman about anti firearms legislation, spending $$ on GOA dues and making contributions to Pro 2 A candidates? It was all so unnecessary. Now I can close my eyes, take a deep sigh of relief, and never worry about any of my rights again..........I just need to trust Uncle Sammy........he has my back.........no one would EVER want to deny me the right to bear arms.

You're not serious, are you? This is sarcasm right? I don't trust our government. I'm old enough to remember Ruby Ridge and Waco. I also remember certain figures who managed to suicide themselves due to certain business and political affiliations. Certain others were just openly assassinated. MLK, JFK Yeah, NO, NO F'in way do I trust those SOBs

Waco was a nut job that shot back en masse at the ATF.
I’ll leave it there

On another note, Govt has more information on every citizen than we care to know and has for very, very long time.
I dont believe in tin foil hat stuff.
The United States Firearms Ownership Genie has been out of the bottle for a 100 yrs + and the Govt wont ever get it back in.

Only reason states and cities have restrictive or prohibitive firearms laws is because no one wealthy enough has taken the Govt to court to overturn them.
We’ll raise hundreds of millions of dollars for a political party but not for a direct lawsuit . Never understood that

Yes that was ultimate sarcasm. I don't trust the Government, Liberals, the ATF or any other agency as far as I can throw an elephant by the tail. If you have read any of my posts, you know where I stand.

Yes, I agree, Koresh was a pedophile hiding behind religion. Instead of saving those children, they burned them, alive. That pig Feinstein becomes a senator and her poor decisions are all forgotten. Let's not forget Chipman taking photo ops with charred corpses as if with a foreign enemy. I'm not condoning Koresh's behavior or crimes, just saying we didn't have to charge in with armored cars. It could've and should've been handled differently.
As a result of everything mentioned and more, I have an intense distrust of any government officials. I will continue to clutch this distrust until someone can prove to me that the government is there to serve its citizenry vs oppress.

And most of you know, I've recently been fitted for a new tin foil cap. I will sport that rascal til the cows come home

A host of government agencies were nut jobs that murdered a group of folks by escalation practicing their brand of religion in Waco.
You believed the lies. Ruby Ridge, Ditto. Freeman of Montana, Ditto. And many more.

The remainder of your post I fully agree with.

The lies? Ruby Ridge was a lie? Why do you think we make fun of AFT agents by dog references. Those SOBs shot the dog in front of the son. He was absolutely in his rights to ventilate that MFr. Let's not forget mr horiuchi . Shot the wife in the head. IIRC. My wife and dogs are precious to me and I totally understand where they were coming from. The AFT tried entrapment, he refused and they pushed harder. "Cut your own damn barrel " they didn't appreciate that. Yeah, all a lie
Not trying to get in a p!$$ing match, I'm just not seeing where you're coming from

Here is what I was trying to communicate: Ruby Ridge was a setup. The ATF and other agencies had nothing but refused to give it up, escalated (as they often do) and murdered members of that family (and dog). Recall they used a shotgun rigged bot to deliver a gallon of milk (for the infant?) to the front door? And the dude was smart enough not to go for it. Now I don't know if we are on the same page or not but I strongly object to any LE move from any branch that kills women, children and/or dogs. Waco was just another in a series of exercises of excess by LE/Government Goons. There was no other way to end the deal except to torch (by tank barrel) the entire compound taking out men/women/children/babies??? I do not believe that LE is Judge/Jury/Executioner. So yes, the lies of Government agencies to justify/solidify their abuses is most objectionable.

It's hard for me to discern sarcasm from text. You don't hear the inflection or see the snicker when reading. I guess I'm so, tuned into whiners, i miss the like-minded. Good points. I mis-interpreted most of that, i guess.
