There have been restrictions on the use of lead pellets in shotgun shells since 1991. However, lead pellets are still legal for home defense.

The use of lead shot for duck hunting has been banned for years. I also believe that California has banned the use of lead bullets on state land which is a bad deal for folks who hunt with muzzle loaders. The problem in Va has been the deaths of eagles that scavage dead deer and carcasses and end up digesting lead pellets. No lead in bullets is gaining traction and will probably spread to private lands down the road.

but double 00 home protection..not so much i mean bad guy or bad girl probably will have more to worry about after a round of double 00 in the chest
