BIG NEWS: Supreme Court Considering Decision To End All Assault Weapon Bans

i would want to see what defines an "assault" weapon and then how congress would go around the words

but i say this BUY an AR 10 its 5 times less "assaultish" than an AR 15 , :ROFLMAO:
i got a senator here, Jack Reed, that was in the military, and he says no doubt, the AR's are assault weapons.

what is galling is that a shooter will use any weapon and "assault" anyone, and that weapon will be called.."an assault weapon"

damit even a snapping clothespin "gun" can be considered an "assault weapon"

assault FORKS, assault cars, assault subway trains ..congress is full of dummmmmmmiiiiessss

I got to spend some time with Jared Yanis at the VCDL Lobby Day dinner and the next day at our rally on Va state capital grounds. He is very passionate in the fight for out gun rights. As far as over turning bans I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.

I hate to be a kill joy. No, I really do. It makes no difference how SCOTUS rules. The Moonbats will just change the term assault weapon to weapon of war, or some such and keep right on doing as they damn well please.

Hi,

Wanted to listen to this, but I could care less about the sponsor ad pushing gold, so I stopped watching it, sorry, hate freakin adds they stick in everything today

I don't mean to get all geeky and O.T. on you, but...

I've been using this little piece of software for decades, works great. It's an add-on to your browser. It blocks so many ads that surfing the web is almost enjoyable. It blocks most ads on web pages, blocks ads on Youtube, etc. Firefox is my browser of choice. I stay away from the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Most of my web searches are through Duck Duck Go or Freespoke to cut down on the tracking. You can configure your browser to use whatever search engine you want to as its default.

Oh, yeah. The add-on is called Ublock Origin. Find it here: https://ublockorigin.com/

I don't have a solution for my Andriod phone just yet. I'm working on it. :)

I'd be happy to help with your config if need be. Drop me a PM. Forgive me if I state the obvious. ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Hi,

Just so I can be on topic... ;)

It seems to me that no one can actually define the term "assault rifle". Sure, they point to standard capacity magazines and limit their size, make sporting rifles inconvenient with fins on the grips, enforce an inconvenient breakdown to change a magazine, etc. But there are rifles "less scary" looking that use the same calibers and are just as deadly, none are fully auto.

It seems even the dictionary disagrees with the true meaning of the term...

...as opposed to the NRA explanation...

The 1994 AWB added stipulations that included many non-military rifles in order to make people feel good but did nothing to actually curb "gun violence". I know I'm preaching to the choir and stating the obvious. Thanks for letting me vent. ;)

Oops. I just wanted to apologize to @Annihilator. The adblock add-on won't do anything for sponsored ads inside the video by the host. But it's great for everything else.

I cut the guy some slack. I'm sure he's got expenses. ;)

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Hey, no problem, I just hate when they stick in any ads like that, YouTube is very good at doing that also, I finally watched it.

Yesterday the Illinois State Rifle Association followed through on the promise we made last January to law-abiding, responsible gun owners that we would challenge Gov. JB Pritzker’s so-called “assault weapons ban” on the grounds that the law is unconstitutional. Our objective from the very beginning of the process that started the moment Gov. Pritzker signed the bill into law – was to take our case to the United States Supreme Court – and we followed through on that promise and now our case is in the hands of the highest court in the land.

The financial cost of our legal journey has been substantial. To date, ISRA has invested hundreds of thousands of dollars defending our freedoms in court. We anticipate our present legal challenges will surpass $1 million by the time they are completed. Your immediate support is crucial to sustain our momentum as we prepare to present our case to the highest court in the land.

It appears to me that entries like this are probably written my folks with little first-hand knowledge about semi or full auto firearms. If they did the phrase "rifles (such as the AK-47) that can be set for automatic or semiautomatic fire" would simply be select fire rifles.
