Never used the pencil, but I have used with good results Birchwood Casey Cold Blue in the bottle.Do these things work any experience with it you always lose bluing on the outer cylinder on the revolvers thanks
Are you referring to the “turn line”?Do these things work any experience with it you always lose bluing on the outer cylinder on the revolvers thanks
Thanks Hans I guess it shows your shootAre you referring to the “turn line”?
Just accept it…it’s a natural wear point.
Thanks I agree I am leaving it aloneTouching up the blue on an older gun may hurt the resale value to collectors. I say "may" because some folks want to buy untouched guns with original finish. An older Colt 1911 with a worn finish will usually bring more than one that has been reblued. In most cases the touch-up job never matches the color of the factory job.
i myself have no "older guns" unless one would consider guns i bought "new" nearly 3 years ago to be "older" and of any significant value?Touching up the blue on an older gun may hurt the resale value to collectors.
