Cleaned it and took it to the range. Shooting great and then the rear sight came off! Good Lord what a freaking disappointment that was. Picked up the sight and it slides in and out of the sight channel of the slide like it’s too small. I don’T understand how this got out of the factory. Below is a couple of pictures with sight off and then showing it slid to the left. It slides in and out with ease.

A call to Springfield Customer service is what I'd do. Since it's new I wouldn't do anything to it. SA customer service is outstanding to deal with. I have had to use them a few times and sometimes they even throw in something for your troubles so to speak. That's what I would do, that's just my opinion and two cents worth though on the matter.

Just make sure you call them instead if emailing, they are rather slow answering emails

I had the same problem several years ago. Using a center punch I put a couple of dimples in the dovetail, gently tapped the sight back in place. Didn't have any more problems.

I have already contacted them and it’s on its way back but man I still don’t get how this is possible. I cleaned it and there didn’t seem to be an issue with the sight but I mean I didn’t like try to move it or anything. Their quality control really dropped the ball on this one.

I bought a 10mm Ronin when it first came out, the rear sight block set screw came loose and I lost it on a range (not knowing it was loose). The dove-tailed rear sight block did not slide off...Makes me want to get Bob angry and use some loctite blue. Moral....it happens. SA customer service is the best with this stuff...

There is a set screw, all you have to do is tighten it. Remove the big top screw, lift the sight blade up to reveal the set screw. I bet there is a random allen key in the box.
Why wouldn’t customer service tell me that if that is all it was? The big top screw is for elevation adjustment. I am pretty sure I looked on the bottom side of the sight and didn’t see a set screw protruding but I may have missed it. I wasn’t real pleased at the time.
