BRASS PREP

Brought in The New Year prepping brass. Recently I started de-priming the brass before I cleaned them. Press seems to move smoother this way. How many times do you reload your brass?

I have the same dehydrator.......I mean brass dryer . As long as I can find the brass I've shot I keep reloading until there's something wrong with it. I've reloaded 264wm super-x brass 20 times at least. It's the same brass I bought in early 80's. I kept the brass until I started reloading in '84. Brass is about 45 years old.

I only reload pistol brass and discard when split. My case prep is traditional using dry walnut media and a dab of NuFinish car polish. I decap on my presses.

i sweep up range brass, then drop those into the spinning ball, (media cage ball) to remove swept up dirt.

then i toss them into the screening plate, to let the 22's, and 380's to drop to the bottom

then i sort out the 9mm from the large/small primer 45 ACP

then i clean in walnut media

then i polish in corn cob media/Lyman's treated media

then i toss them into marked large coffee cans

then i deprime on the press(es)

i keep a 5 gallon pail for taking the brass i don't use or need, to the recycler, in the media room

as you can see, we drink a lot of coffee......lol

i'm still new at reloading and gathering as much info as i can regarding how many times to reload my brass.

i'll reload until i too see split brass.
