Warship Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024: Moscow on the Hudson

When World War II started, the U.S. Navy was up to the proverbial frozen creek as far as icebreaking went. After evaluating Soviet and Swedish icebreakers, the U.S. began work on the Wind-class, the first U.S. ships designed and built specifically as icebreakers.
