Broken barrel bushing.

Hey I just picked up a brand new garrison .45acp not even a week ago and took it to the range and this happened after less than 200 rounds of S&B 230gr fmj. Has anyone ever had this happen and is there a quality control problem with the parts on these guns.

Yea kind of a freak thing it was running perfectly too right before it happened, I'll call them first thing in the morning.
They are notoriously slow to answer emails since corona. They are good with the phones and stand behind their products. Everyone is happy with their customer service. I'm sure you will be too.

And welcome to the forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable guys around here, everyone is nice and helpful.

That's good to hear, it's a little disconcerting considering this is basically a brand new firearm that I was expecting to be rugged and reliable, at least this happened at the range and not in a life or death situation.
So was mine. Less than 500 rounds. I sent the whole gun back to have it looked over to make sure the extractor didn’t snap because of something in the action of the gun. Don’t be surprised if they ask you to send the whole gun. Better to be safe than sorry.
Welcome to the forum. A lot of good info here and smart knowledgeable people with years of practical experience.

Yeah I'm sending them the gun just as it is all jammed up dirty and busted,I'm sure they will take care of it I hear alot of good things about springfield, this was going to be a upgrade to the kimber that I've had for a while that honestly has run flawlessly after the first 200 hundred rounds or so.

I'd be concerned that the muzzle end of the slide on the inside could be damaged as well. Can you push the plug in and turn the barrel bushing and break it down and take a look inside? When you find out what happened please let us know.

The whole gun is jammed up, I could probably get it apart with a rubber mallet but I want them to see it as is. I will definitely post a update as soon as I get some information

The day I bought it I took it home field stripped it, cleaned it and oiled it up with some clenzoil took it to the range and put 100 rds of winchester whitebox and a 50 round box of S&B it ran perfectly without any issues. Took it home cleaned up put a little more clenzoil on it went back to the range today went through the first couple mags fine then this happened, I'm curious as to what they have to say cause I've never heard of this happening on any 1911 before.

I'll definitely look into that, I'll post a update tomorrow after I talk to someone at S.A. I'm gonna bring it back to the shop I bought it from too and see what they think they are really good guys and work on alot of 1911s.
