Broken sights

It probably has something to do with the fact that the 5.25 XDM comes with an adjustable rear sight which has moving parts and by default would be easier to break than a standard solid sight.
I just asked because my adjustable rear sights have never broke. I have shot many competitions with mine, as well as dropping it on concrete. And I have had zero issues with either the front or rear sight. I even have the same adjustable sights on my 1911 TRP 45ACP and no issues there either. So was just curious on how they actually broke. Because he said "I broke" and didn't say "the sight broke". Makes me think something unusual happened.

I agree something really out of line of normal use must have happened to break the sight.
