brought up my reloaded stock a bit

Old_Me

SAINT
well, i was not bored, but i really could not leave the house this morning. it's been an unusual summer, with heat, and very high humidity, and rain, lots of rain. so since i had to stay home, reloading seemed to be a good use of time, cuz it's RAINING AGAIN...!!!!

so as many of you know, i have the Lee Pro-4000, set up for 9mm, and i also have 45 ACP dies, which came with it, when i bought it.

as well as the 550c Dillon, with dies for 9mm, 45 ACP, 45 Colt LC, and 38 special.

so anyway, i have quite a bit of new 9mm, but i wanted to "dial in" the Lee for the TiteGroup powder. believe it or not, it's been since maybe September (??) when i got that powder...i had just been using the Dillon more.

well, NO lost, or runaway primers, as in the past. i did that trick of putting the primer piece into boiling hot water, to "reset" the way primers come out and into the primer cup.

only planned on 100 rounds...but ended up making 200. (124 gr. LRN, these came with the reloading room i bought)

tomorrow, i wipe off the wax, on each cartridge, and box them, and label all the info.

as usual, several rounds were checked for proper grain drop, (i am using 3.5 gr) the starting charge, as my usual way to do this.

they plunked quite well.

i think it took me about 2.5 hours from setting up, to cleaning up the bench when done.

i was not rushing, i was just "in da groove", and frankly, i surprised myself, cuz that Lee was operating quite well, especially, no primers going AWOL.....

sooner or later, i gotta get started again reloading 45 ACP, i have like 15 empty boxes, and they keep piling up.

those will be done on the 550c.

well, i set out to get my 45 ACP restocked.

i had "only planned" on 250 rounds, for now, but ended up doing 500.

that's still 10 boxes worth, the other 5 empty boxes, i put away, this way, my storage cabinet was fully stocked just right.

i started yesterday in fact, and did 200 rounds...today i did the remaining 300

lousy weather, we had a tornado touch down briefly in a city about 8 miles from me.

nothing but heavy rain for me, no power outages so it was a good enough day to reload....

witness said he saw a car get picked up and tossed about 10 feet into the air...a tow truck was behind them, and pulled up to the car to prevent another vehicle from crashing into it.

update and questions, if you would...

i reloaded like 400 rds of 9mm the past 2 days.

i was using Winchester SPP's.

i open up the Lee primer device, and flipped over the primers from thier box, nearly all were in perfect order, except maybe 3, then they flipped when i shook the tray.

ok, so now, i was done reloading and wiping off the wax on each cartridge, so it could "plunk" easily..

at this point, is when i noticed 1 primer that had a "rusty" look to it......

so now, i am wondering, just load that 1 round and shoot it, or pull the bullet, soak the casing in water, then dry, and reload with another primer.?

i do have at the very least 2 spare primers from previous reloadings sitting on my bench.

anyone ever come across a "rusty looking" primer?

if so, what did you do..???

thanks in advance.
