And these Fords were not ugly, more fugly then a Buick, just sayin
We didn't think so at the time, but damn, don't both those "cheap" crapboxes look good today! I'd LOVE to find either one of them in drivable condition at a price I could afford.

Interestingly (to me, anyway), I build model cars, and especially like to collect and restore older, "collectible" ones. Both the '66-'67 Falcon and all early Maverick kits will bring big bucks on eBay, because they weren't that popular at the time, so there aren't that many left today, and unlike more popular cars, will likely never be made as a new kit.

when i turned wrenches, i looked forward to the road test. some of the best riding, comfortable land Yachts on the roads, were Buicks, Oldsmobiles and Pontiacs.

these were (at times) thought to be higher echelon from chevys. (the poor man's car)

of course, Caddies were top notch "you finally made it to the top" kinda car, the rich(er) working man would buy.

as a mechanic, i cared less the car the person owned, it was the cha-ching of the cash register the bossman liked.

i miss the Ford Maverick, Buick Park Ave, Olds Delta 88, Pontiac Bonneville, and actually all those hunk of REAL METAL, let's drive into a boulder and laugh at the tiny scratch on the front bumper kinda cars.

i will NEVER however..... miss having to push those 5,000 pound sherman tanks into the garage, when they would not start...!!!!!!!

I really, really miss my Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Those patrol cars were fast when needed, able to take a hit so to speak if you got into a crash and roomy enough for the guys with long legs like myself. Now we are regulated to the Ford Explorers. Hate, hate, hate them especially, they look spacious but they really are not...

Loved the Crown Vics. IACP raised heck with Ford the year they told us they were discontinuing them. As a result they agreed to continue making them until they discontinued the Lincoln Town Car, but warned us the SUV's were going to be our only option in the future. I do think the SUV's are more survivable in a crash than some of the sedans that are available.

We all know this is @KillerFord1977 favorite car besides his beloved Ford truck…….custom paint, slotted wheels….😳😳😳😳

Never had a Buick but I like the now discontinued Regal Tour X wagon, but it’s hard to part with a 4x4 pickup truck for hauling stuff.

Back in the day when those Regals GN, and Monty SS were all the rage, the Cutlass 442 was the alternative, which I don’t recall exactly but wasn’t much of a performance car like the GN or SS.
Always liked and wanted a triple black Olds Delta 88 sedan of the era just to be different. The boss had a 73 Buick Centurion convertible I got to drive once in a while that got me interested in these land yachts.

Crown Vic racing group and tracks:

The one car I miss that I never should have gotten rid of: 1974 Mercury Capri with the 2.8 V6 and 4-speed manual. Bought mine from the second owner back in 1989. It had an Offenhauser intake with a 650 cfm Holley 4-barrel, headers, dual exhaust. Fun car to drive and would haul azz. From the 80s, I had a 1985 Thunderbird with the V6. Good car. I think that and the Cougar were good lookin' cars, and the Taurus SHO was also awesome. From the 90s came the GMC Typhoon and Syclone. Chevy had the Impala SS, which was nasty. Ah, the good old days.

i think some automakers, make the mistake to build a new model such as this tour wagon, and call it Regal.

it's not. Regal was a 2 door model originally. then went to 4 doors.

they shoulda named it the Buick Truckster or something.

sorta like Ford naming the Electric SUV Mustang......it is NOT a Mustang.

maybe call it the "Bull Oxen Wonder SUV..????

killing the original build and memories.

dumb azz makers, and the millennials they hire..
