Buick šŸ¤®šŸ¤®

One of my two dream cars is a Chevy II. The other is a '63 Impala.

There was a TV or magazine ad way back in the 60's I think where they claimed the 1960 Pontiac had a back seat large enough to "spread your legs", uh huh, and it showed a nice looking young lady with her escort opening the door for her and pulling the front seatback forward to obviously indicate they were headed to the back seat. Yes, I'm thinking now more like it was a magazine ad. I don't think even back then they would allow that on TV.

Anyway, the reason I mentioned that is that I always thought the same ad could be applied to that old '60 Buick I bought. Man, that back seat was huge, and comfortable. In fact that whole old tank of a car was pretty comfy to ride in and a real nice driver. But boy that ol' 455ci sucked the gas like a siphon. jj

My mom had a Nova. It stalled when she made left turns when she got it.
i had a customer that had the same issue. i think some in later years the inline 6 cyl engine, had an integral intake manifold to the cylinder head, and they were prone to cracking (the intake manifold), causing an issue like that.

i also has quite a few Dodge/Plymouth/Chrysler owners that had the same issue, and it was found to be the gas in the float bowl was spilling out of the carb. if i recall, Chrysler had made a baffle to fit in the carb to stop that.

to this day, even IF the stalling issue on the Nova was indeed that cracked intake manifold, it just made no sense that's what actually caused the stalling.

however, once the cylinder head was replaced..??

stalling issue was eliminated....

While you guys were thinking of back seats, us Mopar girls finished the race and were drinking a Bier before you got to the finish line.
I donā€™t discriminate. Iā€™ve had nice Fords, Chevys and Dodges. I had a great, early Dodge Dart, I had a ā€˜70 Duster with the 318 and my buddy had one of the fastest cars Iā€™ve ever been in, a 1969 Charger RT, 440,4 bolt main, 6 pack and a slap shifter. That car was insane.

Also I am typing this while sitting in my 2005 Dodge Ram with 5.7 Hemi. Finally got her back together, passed emissions and all front suspension parts replaced.

By some Amazing Cosmic Coincidence, a post by mikep sent me looking for a particular Tom Petty song, which I've enjoyed hundreds of times, but had never seen the video of before. Spoiler Alert: There's a Buick in it, a real Land Yacht/Road Pillow, in a semi-starring role.
