No. The two are no more stranded than the current crew that go up & down in SpaceX or Russkie capsules.

There are plans to bring them down on a SpaceX ship if there's a need.

The reason they're staying up is Boeing can only properly test the thruster issue under space conditions.

sooner or later..the food runs out.....cannibalism is near.

The station gets resupplied with food, water, air, fuel, scientific equipment, and other necessities every three months.

Here are some of the vehicles that have been used to resupply the ISS:
  • Progress
The first cargo craft to dock with the ISS in 2000, the Progress resupply ship from Roscosmos is the most frequent cargo ship sent from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

  • H-II Transfer Vehicle
Nicknamed Kounotori "White Stork", this vehicle from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

  • Automated Transfer Vehicle (ATV)
This vehicle from the European Space Agency (ESA) has been launched to resupply the ISS.

  • SpaceX Dragon
This cargo craft from SpaceX launched to the ISS for the first time in 2012.

As I mentioned earlier there are plans to bring the crew back on a SpaceX craft (Dragon 2), "if" needed.

There are two variants of the Dragon spacecraft: Crew Dragon, capable of ferrying four crewmembers, and Cargo Dragon.
