CANIK Question

OKay don't yell at me. I have never owned or shot a Canik. In my past I would have said to anyone Never buy a Canik... now I am seeing them all over and I am reading all kinds of tests and reviews that say they are legit. Are they? I hear and read that you get more bang for your buck, fancy triggers, all the bolt ons or whatever; but are they any good? Are they Junk? I really want to know.
I have gone to two gun shops in the past week that swore Canik was the new coming of our savior. I dunno, it's hard for me to swallow...

I like the Rival with the gold accents, but I have heard on here from a few members who had one, extra mags are hard to come buy, other then that, really heard to much wrong about them

I've had a Rival Darkside since it was launched. Great trigger, very accurate, way too big for CC (for me). Magazines were hard to find during the scamdemic, but are common now. It is a competition gun...trigger too light for duty-carry. Looks mean as hell, but that also makes it a pain to clean the frame. Mine cycles as well as any other striker pistol I've owned. If I had to buy again I would, but I'd get the S model (metal frame), which is heavier like a competition gun should be. I don't compete, but I wanted to hit bulls from 25 yards, and this one did not disappoint. Better ergos than a Glock, not as good as Walther...my opinions.

i have had 2 Caniks, at different times..(sorry, been a while, i cannot recall the models)

absolutely GREAT shooting, GREAT triggers right out of the box.

but, getting parts is another issue...i needed magazines..........could never find them, put my name on the emailing list, (both Caniks' website, and Century Arms thier importer, and Mag Warehouse) which every stinking time, it would be like 2 AM when i get the email and i'm sound asleep, so i miss out yet again on magazines.....what fools send out emails that early in the AM..?

then i switched out the slide release for the extended one, and slightly bent the tiny spring......try getting another spring........

so if you buy one, "be happy" with the number of mags you get, cuz it can be a looooong time, before you get any more....as well as ANY OTHER PARTS..>!!!!!!!

and i mean too that i tried ALL the magazine websites that carry FACTORY mags, as well as other popular aftermarket mags.

Every gun store I go to every week has Canik mags in stock these days...including most on-line sources (Classic Firearms, Midway, etc.). I can't speak to replacement parts though...
