With some mold changes to the frame and slight changes to the slide it looks like SA is replacing the Mod2 line with a new sub compact. Minus the Grip Zone grip stippling.

You are probably correct as I’m not familiar with the XD’s from back then.

I've had a 3in 9mm since they first came out. Still have it ! They are very nice for carry. I swich between it and my XDs 45acp.

Looks exactly like my MOD-2 Compact.
I have to agree this being a good choice for EDC, 13 round mag with a 16 round mag in the pocket.
