My 22 WMR pistols and revolvers are some of my favorite guns to plink with. I used them slightly less than my 9mm guns when ammo was the same price for both, but now that ammo for the 22 mags is less than half of what 9mm is going for, they are some of my most used range toys. I'm always glad to see more variety in my ammo, and have seen some impressive results from segmented ammo. However, I have always found 22 WMR to run much cleaner than 22 LR, and fouling has never been a big concern of mine. I'm still happy to have the new option, but I'm more excited about it being segmented than I am about it running clean.
