Let's just say you have more than 1 rifle in the same chamber and you check the c.o.a.l using the same bullet? Reloading or not the issue. 1 gives a longer c.o.a.l what would you do? Pushing the lands forward is inexpensive and can be done with hand tools. I ask this because of a 243win in an ar10 the factory ammo when chambered pushes the bullet a little further in the case. When I checked the c.o.a.l with a 90fmj the c.o.a.l was .035" short Sierra's load data. When checking other bullets of various weights others were short also. A throat reamer from ptg was about 170 or 180 dollars. Example: 1 gun shoots "x" bullet great .050" off lands and 2 other guns of the same cartridge are not as accurate, but 1 is .037" and 1 is .055" what would you do? I don't buy any factory ammo after 100 rounds shot through that gun/barrel. Food for thoughts?
