I don't live in Chicago but 15 years ago I used to work in downtown Chicago, great city, tons of stuff to do. It's unreal how fast it went downhill. Now I have no desire to go into the city for anything. The last mayor basically turned Chicago into Gotham City and now the idiots elected what looks like will be even a worse mayor and they complain about crime and it being a sanctuary city for all these migrants. You reap what you sow, as soon as my kid is out of high school I'm leaving this POS state.

For the record, only one (1) of elected alderman out of the fifty (50) made that suggestion. This is what that neighborhood majority of about 15,000 residents got when they voted. They’re not electing the best. I‘m guessing the “No Guns” signs slathered all over the place for the past 10 years aren’t working either. So they appeal the the thugs for some peace. They would never demand law and order from the elected and appointed officials like prosecutors and judges.
The latest elected imbecile radical mayor recently said he’s only been in office a short time, “so things are gonna take some time” even though he stated that they have a solid plan for reducing summertime crime and violence.
Illinois Safe-T-Act is in its infancy, so fearful and cowering residents have to wait three or more election cycles to see how all this criminal leniency works out as they continue to shoot one another over dope slinging territory.

6 killed - 28 shot bringing a of 42 total homicides and 195 shot to date, just in August.

Same deal here in what used to be known as the City of the Monuments. Richmond is on the fast track to catch up with many of the other cities along the East Coast with similar demographics in respect to raising crime stats.

Last Thursday someone was shot dead while mowing his lawn in the west end of Louisville Kentucky. Broad daylight.
No one saw anything.
Neighbors said he was the nicest guy and never in trouble his whole life and would do anything to help people.
