Chicken Cannons

A windshield in a plane my dad had said it was tested for a 1lb bird at plane speed of 300mph. So I asked him about a 300lb bird at plane speed of 1mph. Seemed logical from 6 year old(me being the 6yo)? It's crazy how thick aircraft windshields are and look bullet proof as far as thickness, but unsure on material?

My father in law was an Air Force flight surgeon in the 60's and 70's who was on a team that developed the canopy for the F-16. The chicken cannon is real, and the story he told was that the above story involved U.S. and U.K. aircraft designers. Who knows, but bird strikes continue to be a real problem. Air bases have taken to using Labrador retrievers, sound cannons, and even falcons to discourage birds around the airdrome

Big ouch! Situation's very real. Have used scarecrows, shiny objects, noise, ect. Most anything that works. Airborne?
Am surprised haven't heard anything yet about using drones for bird patrol. Be surprised if haven't by now?
Possibly use metal blades, pipes ect. attached to planes cowling like in WWII with Jeeps to prevent decapitation or dismemberment of soldiers by thin piano wire or cable stretched over roadways?
