Decent article on so called classic carry guns, some nice choices but personally would pass on the SW99, known to many who had issues with this model.

All apologies to those Glock fans, but they should not be included in classic carry guns discussions. They were and still are one of the leaders in the modern class of striker fired polymer pistols. Neither should the 99 be included.

What about the real classic carry handguns, 1911s, revolvers. This article pretty much misses half the classic mark in my opinion with thier inclusions and distinct lack of inclusions.

I can't say that I agree with the author. I do have a Beretta 85, but I don't carry it.

Valid point. The article missed a lot of classic carry guns.

My own primary carry for about 30 years now has been a lightly modified 1959 Colt Commander in .45acp. It don't get much more classic than that. ;)

Very interesting choices, only one in there I care for is the S&W .45 or 10mm... Odd no .38 Police/Detective or 1911 Combat Commander. I have never been a Beretta fan, just something about the roundish styling that I do not like. I have an M9 just because, but will never carry it.
