Cleaning your gun cleaning tools.

What do you guys use to clean your rods, swags, brushes, etc. ?

I have access to a lot of Denatured Alcohol, but I'm guessing it's not the best for grease. We use it at work to clean poly NG pipes before we fuze them.

I use disposable plastic cheap toothbrushes. I dont clean anything. Disposable. Bore rods get wiped down with Hoppes. Everything else gets thrown away after several cleanings.

I just wipe them down with my cleaning products and rags cut from old t-shirts. They never really get too bad.

What about mops? Man I go through a S ton of them because I use them until I don't trust them anymore then pitch them. Gunscrubber or some other solvent or do you think the alcohol would work?

I gave up mops years ago, I just use patches now, got tired of cleaning the fuzz left from the mops, not much you can do to clean them I don’t think

Oh man you gotta use them for shotguns. It takes half a t-shirt to clean one with patches. lol

We gotta get you a 500 Anni. EVERYONE needs at least one of those.

Not into shotguns anymore, had a few Remington 870’s, 2 Mossberg 500’s and a real nice Beretta semi auto, got rid of them years ago

Well, you can't really hunt chickens with them. You can, but it makes a hell of a mess.

I soak them in hoppes. Give them a few taps to rinse off the hoppes and move on

I wipe down any metal cleaning components with Ballistol, clean brushes with dish soap and water, and throw bore snakes in the washing machine in a mesh laundry bag every now and then. Once anything starts showing excessive wear, I throw it away and replace it.

Same here—just patches.

I rinse my brushes in a baby food jar of gasoline.
