Cleanup storm hows everyone doing

Sld1959

Ronin
Well it's time to start cleanup after this mess. Got electricity back last night. Then temps went into low 40s late yesterday and Mid 40s today. So a lot of the snow melted. Can finally really venture out without worry of widowmakers.

This storm with its ice first and then 9 inches or so of super heavy wet snow did more damage than all the others this winter. I have a lot of small and large limbs down and lost two pines along the perimeter. Which took out a couple areas of fence.

Going to take a few days to clean up this mess. Lucky no injuries to any family members

How's is everyone doing.

what snow we got last Monday, has been gones since last Thursday, only to be replaced by rain, and winds.

i was going to go outside now in fact to sweep up the yard and front sidewalk, but everything is still wet.

i'll wait another day or 2, and maybe more winds will move that crap down to my neighbors front sidewalk.

got no gumption to really do anything, and i had planned on reloading some 9mm........

Here I Chicago we dodged the last storm that was to dump inches of snow/ice over Fri into Sat. Really expected at very least, heavy icing on wires. Nothing but cold rain.

I think it’s safe to say I can now put the snowblower away. It clogs too often with the heavy wet stuff, only used it once this season, no power outages and the portable genny sat unused except for the monthly start-up.

Anything that falls now will melt off during day, sand and fertilizer (safer than salt) still on hand for ovenight sidewalks icing.

i don't put away my snow throwers/blowers, shovels, rock salt, sand/kitty litter, away until July 4th.....then take them out and get them ready on July 6th.....

seriously, at least not until 1st week in April, cuz 2 times here now, we had snow, and mountable snow, in early April..!!

one hit us yes...on April fool's day..!!

once burnt, is once learnt, to put away the winter tools too early....

I feel bad for victims of the storms. But it is good to live in Florida. But then there is hurricane season....
hurricane season, 'gater season, iguana season, humid season, and most importantly, "dumb resident doing something stupid, in the news season"..

"just funnin' ya"

been to Florida many times in my trucking career....stopped many times at the Fantasy Cafe......

where every mile on the highway, there is a billboard telling one to stop
