Colt Competition 1911 45 ACP

ok, so in another thread i mentioned about i had on order a S/A Garrison and a Colt Competition since July..i had gotten the email stating the Garrison came in.

i had doubted that i wanted this Garrison right now, due to my focusing on my reloading

well, i was "thinking" about dumping the S/A 35, as i am getting away from 9mm in favor of 1911's (in 45 ACP only, you know, God's caliber)

got to the gun store, and the owner said, 'yes, the Colt also came in as well"

to wit i was happier then hearing about the Garrison.

so i made the deal, and traded in the S/A 35

got a good price on my trade in.

taking it to the club Friday (tomorrow)

i been to Colt's website, i wanted to register the warranty, but i cannot find that link..??

Yea, since CZ took over you can’t register online anymore, you will love the Colt, mine is great, my brother just acquired a first Gen Colt Gold Cup National Match Trophy in stainless from an estate sale, been trying to talk him out of it, but he ain’t biten at all

actually, i had remembered that when i got my first Colt (no roll marks, no sights) 1911, i went to CZ's website and registered it there.

so that's what i did yesterday, and they sent me an email saying they will get back to me.

Congrats on the new colt. Sounds like you made the right choice for what you actually wanted. Let us know how it shoots!
target pics, later today for sure..

yeah, it was going to be a no buy for the Garrison, but still glad i took the SA 35 either to sell or trade...thankfully, when he said the Colt was in, so was i for the deal.

i love my S/A products, but i do have a few of those, and only 1 other Colt, in the stable.....

well good/bad news regarding any pics.

my buddy took to my new Colt, and CZ, and had a blast, over his very snappy G-43.

he keeps that tiny Glock in his bedside stand. he bought that gun some time ago, for home defense.

in any event, we shot up the same targets (as i was running low on what i had), so as a result, i have no pics today.

i "plan" on going to the range next week, then i can get down to business for myself.

he say's he'd "like" to buy a heavier 9mm, much like the CZ, all steel, as he really likes the lower recoil, and more grip area than the G-43 has.

whether or not he actually gets another gun, i cannot say, that's up to him, i tried NOT to be a salesman. i think i did well with that.

Sounds like he would love a SA Garrison in 45 Auto :)
he was "floored" at some of the prices.

he asked me, if i didn't mind, how much my Colt costs.

1st, i told him, it was going for $1,100, but i traded in a gun, which like anything else, brings down the cost.

but i went on to say, "it's not uncommon for anyone to spend into the thousands for ANY handgun, or rifle.

i just checked CZ's website, they still produce the CZ 75 B, for $750. i think i paid about $700, but right now, i am too tired to go check.

He doesn’t have to spend thousands for less snappy bedside gun. If he tries a full size polymer gun he will see the difference and he won’t have to break the bank. And when he wants to shoot an all metal gun gun he’ll just ask you to take him to the range!!

Have fun with your new gun it’s always nice to take a new gun to the range and snap in with it. It’s a great feeling when you spend hard earned money on a gun and take it to the range and have it really perform
