All of my carry guns are for the sole purpose of self-defense, but that doesn't mean that one gun will meet all of my needs. I'd carry my Springfield XDM Elite 4.5" with a 22-round magazine at all times if my wardrobe allowed. Unfortunately, we all know that even when openly and obviously carrying a gun is perfectly legal there are situations where it just isn't feasible. In situations where an untucked shirt or jacket are appropriate, I have many carry options. In certain business situations, a pocket gun may be the only option. I have multiple carry guns in my rotation, but they are all for different types of concealment rather than for different purposes.
