Curious about something

Why is there a 3 oz weight difference between a Ronin and a Garrison? Both full size 9mm; The Ronin lists at 41 oz while the Garrison lists at 38 oz. Both forged steel frame, slide and barrel. about the only big differences I see are the sights (Tac Rack and FO vs Novak 3 dot) and the Garrison looks like it has a flush magazine. The Ronin has front serrations which should reduce the weight a tad.

What am I missing.

I'd say there is a "margin for error" +/- a few oz. in the weight estimates on the Springfield website.

They still list list the 4.25" Prodigy as 32.5 oz and it is definitely not that.

Color me cynical, but could it be because they want you to figure you need one of each?

Is the one on the EMP frame? That would explain the weight difference.

There is a difference in triggers on mine (i have both in .45). Ronin has some sort of “speed trigger” while my stainless Garr has aluminum, I think? Sorry, I’m not where i can take a look.
Probably a very minor weight difference though.

The 'speed trigger' is plastic. Mine got changed to Wilson aluminum right away. I've always wondered about the weight difference as well. Something "doesn't add up".
