Dallas Mayor

Bassbob

Emissary
I ran across this article yesterday. I like this guy. Of course all the Texas media are busying themselves trying to insult him in every way they can without coming across as racists. It always amazes me that even though most people in Texas are not liberal, about 100% of their media is.

Won't let me read the story without paying for a subscription.

I like this guy, and out in ???, Texas I admit I don't follow Dallas politics much. He's a breath of fresh air and I hope he succeeds. However, Texas isn't really a monolithic Red state. The big cities have turned blue over time, much as the other cities in the US. I understand Ted Cruz is now in the middle of a close race. I would agree though this interviewer is an insulting media hack.

I'm glad he is pro law and order because I think a Trump win would generate more mayhem in the cities (again) such as Le Pen's victory in France:

Houston, San Antonio, and Austin are all dark blue. DFW is a pale blue but seems to be growing darker. Just like across the country these bastions of blue cities whose residents suck on the teat of government subsidies start to outnumber the the real producers of our country in the red sections.

The big cities are Blue- Liberals.
Austin is the worst. Mini Kalifornia.
Dallas/ Houston/ san Antonio inner population all vote left.

If you notice this map, all inner cities are blue

Never thought Texas would have all these liberal bastions. God help us if we ever get a democratic governor.
Actually, Texas is traditionally a democrat state. Out of 48 governors only 5 have been Republican. I think people have the impression we are a staunch red state is because Rick Perry (14 years) and Greg Abbott (12 years) are the number one and number two longest serving governors. I haven't looked it up recently, but the House and Senate are fairly slim majorities for Republicans which could turn the other way with the loss of 8 - 10 seats. Again, don't quote me on that. Killer Ford's map is a wake up call.

Hate to agree but you're right. Except for my 9 years in the military have been in Texas all of my life. Being an old rascal hope that I never see Texas becoming a liberal state. Based on what you've cited that could be a reality in the not to distant future. Hope not.

Ok, I looked it up. The Texas House is not close: 86 R to 64 D. The Senate is quite close though: 19 R to 14 D. In the senate a three seat flip would give control to dems.

Know the world won't come to an end if dems take over our state government. Will make at least a few million Texans very unhappy.

I hate it when the commiefornians hate their statement, move someplace where people are still free and cost of living a lot more reasonable, and then vote for the same BS that sent California down the sewer. I know I’m old, but why would you vote for the very things you Moved to escape from? I’ve seen it here in Ky.
