A good friends Dad was a Pearl Harbor survivor-USS Oklahoma. Great old man, but he never forgave the Japanese. Truly the greatest generation. Mt Dad was Army Air Corps (China), had an uncle who was an army beachmaster in the Pacific and another who landed in France on D+1..

I'm pretty sure we're even though dude.
I dunno. I think the folks that fought them would have a tough time with that still. I remember my Uncle Orville talking (beachmaster). They were preparing for the invasion of the home islands when Hiroshima was hit. They were told “nobody will be able to live there for 100 years”. He said, talking about it later “ we wouldn’t have cared if that sank the whole d—m island”. I guess when somebody’s been trying to kill your for3+ years (and have killed and maimed your friends) it tends to make you a tad bitter😏. Dad would never buy a Japanese car. On the other hand, Uncle Paul (D+1-Europe) drove a VW bug😊

Oh for sure. But then my guess is that regular Japanese citizens who had their entire families wiped out by atomic bombs dropped on civilian populations might feel similarly. Just sayin'.

Nobody “wins” in war. Dad talked about the Chinese civilians being staffed by the Japanese airforce and cities there being bombed. And in Europe Cologne lost more killed in a single bonging raid that Hiroshima or Nagasaki (took 1000 plane raid to do it, but if you’re on the receiving end it doesn’t make much difference.). There is always “somebody” wanting to take something from someone else-like Putin currently. Same as thugs breaking in to rob you only a much larger scale. If people would just follow the ONE commandment to “ do unto others as you would have them do unto you” 99.9% of the problems would evaporate in a heartbeat.
