Defensive Handgun Training: 3 Critical Fundamentals

Good basic message! All of us experienced folk need to reach out to all the new gun owners that are showing up as quickly as possible. Most of them will not travel or spend a lot of money to learn even the basics so local organizations need to be reaching out with low cost or free programs to help them be safe and reasonably comfortable with their new companions. Some work is going to be through the internet and youTube so hopefully the information they access will not scare or overwhelm them.

I will try and do my part through my local gun club and through Guns Save Lives which is an Illinois specific organization. Not everyone is going to sit through several days worth of training to get a concealed carry permit but some might and having some basics before signing up for additional training is not a bad thing. Some may even sign up for NRA courses or other programs, but those are going be a much smaller number given that many long-term gun owners rarely sign up for advanced programs.

Thanks for doing this!

Good article. Marksmanship and gun handling can be mastered buy many with practice (NO STRESS). But when it comes to shooting someone else under stress is another thing.
