Dem to propose 1000% fed tax on AR's

Simply arbitrary or capricious because it is despotic and intends to nullify the exercise of a right that is not only inalienable but Constitutionally protected against Federal (16th Amendment) and State abridgment and interference, therefore Constitutionally exempt from abusive taxation by improperly punishing interstate commerce – a violation of the United States Constitution’s commerce clause

This proposal demonstrates (to me) why no ground should ever be given regarding any 2A rights. Even those measures that many call "common sense", or "reasonable". Nothing, ever. You give a little now, they will go for more immediately afterward.

It’s All for show. Pinhead and narrow minded committees, maybe they don’t know such has already been challenged. Tax money pays these buffoons. It takes a lot of money from the emotional uniformed to be bamboozled by dimwits.

For those in lesser constrained locales; Cook Co IL instituted a flat rate gun and ammo tax on top of general state sales tax and IL firearm owners ID card. Don’t ask how much was collected to date and where all the revenue was spent because they probably don’t even know or can’t account for it.
Bottom line, taxing doesn’t work.

Today, the taxed gun and ammo gimmick resulted in this…

This proposal proves that many Democrats don't fear AR-15's, they fear "poor" or "common" people with AR-15's. I'm surprised that 36 Democrats in the House were willing to out themselves as hardcore elitists. They usually at least try to pretend that they are concerned about poor and working class people.

When they put an exorbitant tax on the gun they made it where the rich can afford a closet full while the poor can't have one. This is patently un-constitutional and a half-witted plebe could successfully make the argument in front of the Court.
Let them pass it then we can point and laugh as it gets shot down.

Considering the fact that around 19.8 million AR-15 style rifles are in circulation in the US, a nationwide tally that's surged from around 8.5 million since a federal assault weapons ban expired in 2004. The more recent estimate comes from a November 2020 statement by the National Shooting Sports Foundation. I bet such a tax will make people reconsider their choices. Moreover, I wonder, would a tax as the proposed one be possible to track and pay using an online tool such as the paystub maker.
Here's an excerpt and Link from the NSSF on the numbers of MSRs currently out there. Interesting stuff.

"NSSF®, the firearm industry trade association, updated the industry estimate of Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs) in circulation in the United States to 24,446,000 since 1990. That is an increase of over 4.5 million rifles since the last estimate was released in 2020."

That number would be a lot higher if certain blue states didn't infringe on 2A and ban modern sporting rifles in places like Massachusetts, Connecticut, Maryland, etc...etc....
