Desert Eagle. 44mag will blow on your face

Subedar

Purchased 44 mag desert eagle from GB almost $2000.00 Day one took to the range.Second shot the slide did not close all the way and the gun fired blowing up the casing throwing resdue everywhere. No injuries.Send it back to Magnum research for warranty repairs and they refused to repair it under warranty claiming that the ammo used in the gun was wrong. So if you buy or planning on buying a DE product .There is no warranty the company will refuse to fix it right in your face blaming on something else. They will not listen to you.The Gunsmiths they have are under qualified with no or little knowledge. So my advice to you is do not buy a Magnum research product. The company sucks. They do not stand behind their product .

No, you messed up by not paying attention for the first few times you shot the gun. You’re lucky you’re in one piece.

Additionally, it usually IS the ammo in cases like these…you need to take it up with the ammo manufacturer.

But don’t blame the company for your screw up.

Assuming you did use the right ammo you should contact the ammo company providing them the ammo in question including the lot number and a detailed explanation of what happened. Take pictures of the gun and casing of the cartridge that led to the failure. Be courteous and concerned about safety when dealing with both Magnum Research and the ammo company. You may be surprised at their willingness to make things right. I know this because a used mini-14 i purchased had a catastrophic failure due to a hot round. Both Ruger and the ammo company went above and beyond to make things right.

I'm trying to figure out how it fired out of battery. Even correctly loaded ammo will come apart at the seems if the cartridge is not in/supported by the chamber.
