that the 590A1 patterns tighter on average than most shotguns due to the unique barrel.

The 590A1 Produces Tighter Patterns

Am I the only one that has had a problem with their 590 s**ting rounds out the bottom of the action before the loading trap drops? Not trying to be a smart a**. Seriously. Mine would stop cycling properly after the gun got warm. Regardless of cleaning. That's why I mentioned.

The 2 shotguns the author used are completely different shotguns. Not exactly an apples to apples comparison. There's also about a million different factors that can effect pattern. I would like to have seen the 590A1 tested against a 500, a 1301 and an M1014. And not just a couple shots from each gun. Every round and every load has the potential to skew the numbers. I know we all like to think that the load we favor will always perform identically every time in the same gun and under the same conditions, but I'm here to tell you that's not necessarily true. Shotgun shells are mass produced and as such are not identical and do not always produce identical results. The 590 may "Generally" pattern tighter than the 870, I don't know. Mainly because I am not a fan of the 870 and I don't own or shoot one.

And Cowboy, you are not the only person I have heard of/from that has had issues with the 590, but those stories are far less prevalent than the stories of people having problems with the 930.
