Cheap aftermarket magazines are a common source of firearm malfunctions, especially in semi-autos (quoted from the link). As compared to what, revolvers or single shots. I don't always get factory mags as some factory mags are bad/unworthy per firearm. KCI and SMG are far from quality, but comparable. Depending on firearm 1 is bad and other works great from my uses. "Overloading" isn't much fun when taking a 7# rifle and turning into a 20# to run-n-gun. Some might want that?

Another common mistake not mentioned is a good belt. The best holster is worthless without a good foundation. Spend the money on a belt made for carrying a firearm.
