In my area temps have been ~10 deg below normal & we've got lots of snow, which is good for the watersheds & reducing the risk of wildfires.

Since spring has come to southern new mexico i planted a dwarf apple tree today in a wine barrel. Ground here is terrible and hard to get moisture in it no matter what we do. According to nursery because this tree is a dwarf it should do well in the pot. We shall see how it works out.
